Coming off the 1968 release of Beggar’s Banquet, The Rolling Stones laid the flower power sixties to rest with Let It Bleed. The late 1969 recording features an inspired set of blues based tracks that bleed rock ‘n’ fucking roll. From the off, Keef, old rubber lips, new guy Mick Taylor and those other two guys prove their worth with the engaging “Gimme Shelter”, which gives way to the laid back.. Album Credits. Written By Robert Johnson, Keith Richards & Mick Jagger. Label London Records Ltd. & Decca Records. Recorded At Sunset Sound, Elektra Studios & Olympic Studios. Cover Design Robert.

And now, MoMA has added a classic from that bygone era to its permanent collection: The cover of the Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed, designed by Robert Brownjohn. The iconic cover shows a wacky cake.. Let It Bleed is a studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 28 November 1969 by London Records in the United States and on 5 December 1969 by Decca Records in the United Kingdom. Released during the band’s 1969 American Tour, it is the follow-up to Beggars Banquet (1968), and like that album is a return to the group’s more blues-oriented approach that was prominent.
